5 years old

Logan had his 5th birthday back on November 16th. It was kind of a Toy Story themed bday! He got a Woody toy, a Buzz Lightyear, a Mr. Potato head, and Toy Story 3. Not all from us though, thanks to his Grandma's! He'll be starting Kindegarten next year, and I can't believe how fast he's growing. I'll always have this picture in my mind of him as this curly haired little boy. He is such a goofy little character and is always saying things that is off the wall funny. He does the silliest little gestures that make us smile and laugh. Happy belated bday Logi Bear, WE LOVE YOU!!

Idaho Falls!

For our 9 yr. anniversary, Tyrel & I met up with my brothers in Idaho Falls for some R&R and a little fun and some shopping too! We stayed at the Best Western. They had an indoor hot tub and swimming pool, which the guys took all the kids to so the girls could get some shopping time in. It was great to have a weekend to just have some fun and the cousins got some good playtime in with eachother.

Happy Anniversary!

So today is me & Tyrel's 9 year anniversary. That seems like a long time, but it has gone by so fast. We've been together ever since my Jr. year of high school. I will never forget the first time I saw him at a school dance. I was bein' goofy with my friends when I looked over and saw him. He was looking right at me, smiling. I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it. Then once a slow song came on, he came over and asked me to dance. I couldn't believe that the cutest guy I had ever seen was asking me to dance. Once we were officially "together", I used to think,"I can't believe he is with ME!" I was head over heels for this stud! When we got married, practically right out of high school, we both thought, "FINALLY!" We talked about getting married for so long and it was finally happening. Since then, Tyrel has been such a good husband and hard worker. He does so well at trying his best to provide for his family. I can't think of someone who is more determined at making sure his family is taken care of. He is a good Dad, and loves to be goofy and wrestle with his boys. We have definitely had some high highs and low lows, but I wouldn't want to have them with anyone else. He helps me to learn & grow as a wife and mother. He helps to push me to try new things that I might not want to do or think I can do. So happy anniversary Tyrel, I love you so much. I am glad to be on this rollercoaster ride of life with you!

Teriyaki chicken recipe

Okay so my blog is turning into a recipe blog, but hey atleast you get some good recipes right? This one is super easy and so delicious on chicken! I got it from my mom in law, and I think she got it from her daughter!

3/4 C. soy sauce
3/4 C. sugar
dash of ground ginger
1/3 C. Pineapple juice(or lemon juice if you don't have pineapple).

I mixed this all together in a small pot and got it boiling to dissolve the sugar, then poured it into the pan with my already cooked chicken and let it simmer and soak into the chicken. I did add a little cornstarch to thicken the sauce a bit. Then just serve over rice. SOOOO good! Tyrel approved it, which can be tough some times, so it's definitely a keeper! Enjoy!

*(you can also make this with meatballs and rice)

Halloween

We carved pumpkins the Sunday before Halloween. The kids loved it, but didn't like how gooey it was, especially Luke, watch video below. We celebrated halloween on Friday night since our ward party was that night. We had a yummy soup & chilli dinner. They had all kinds of games and prizes for the kids, then they did the trunk or treating! Lots of fun, lots of candy!

Pumpkin Cookies!

So since it's fall, I thought it was time to make some pumpkin chocolate cookies. I got this yummy recipe from my, practically professional cook, SIL Dawna. I called to tell her I was making them, and little did I know that she was doing the exact same thing! So even though we are hundreds of miles apart, we were making the same cookies simultaneously! After we were done making them, we sent pictures of our yummy cookies to eachother so we could see eachothers finished product! How funny is that? So I decided to post pics on my blog since I had never made them before and I was proud of how they turned out. Yay for COOKIES!!!!!! Now go make some yourself! :D
Just before popping them in the oven!

TADA! The finished product! So yummy!

Yummy alfredo sauce

K so I wanted a different recipe for alfredo sauce, so I googled quick and easy alfredo sauce and picked the first one that came up. Holy fetch! This alfredo sauce was so good, and it is so quick and easy. I couldn't stop spooning it in my mouth. So I thought I would post it since it was so good. I have to warn you, it is a little bit on he fattening side, but oh is it tasty! You gotta try it! so here it is!

1/2 Cup butter or margarine
1 8 oz. package cream cheese
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 Cup milk(I used 1%)
6 oz. grated parmesan
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper

Melt butter in med. non-stick pan over med. heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder and a little milk to help melt the cream cheese. Stirring with a wire wisk, add milk alittle at a time to get lumps out. Stir in parmesan & pepper. Remove from heat when it reaches desired consistency. It will thicken, so just add milk if it's too thick for you! Bon apetit!(or however you spell that):)

Pumpkin Patch

Gwen grew pumpkins this year just for the heck of it, and we're glad she did! We went over to her house on Sunday and picked out a bunch of pumpkins for FREE! I bought a pumpkin carving kit, so we can make cool designs on the pumpkins! I got a few to put on my porch just for decoration!

It's official!

My dishwasher is now in working condition thanks to my hubby Tyrel. It only took him a couple hours to hook up the plumbing and electrical on Saturday. It was so nice not to do any dishes on Sunday after dinner with Tyrel's parents! We should've done this a long time ago. I won't take my dishwasher for granted anymore after washing dishes for a year and a half!

New Four-wheeler

So Tyrel thought it would be fun to get the boys a 4-wheeler to ride around. He's been itching to get one for a couple of years now. It's so fun to watch Logan & Easton ride it and give Luke rides. We thought it could be an early xmas present so they could ride it and enjoy it before the Idaho winter hits and there's too much snow to ride it around!

Itsy Bitsy Spider?!

I saw this spider yesterday while mowing the lawn. I thought it was going to jump off the cement on to my face and start eating me. Hello! This thing was huge! I ran and got the camera and had the boys come and look at it. I made sure they stayed well away from it. I don't know what kind it is, or if it's poisonous, but I wasn't about to try and find out. After we messed with it for a bit I smashed it with a big stick. When we did that I figured out that it must have been carrying a bunch of eggs in that huge bubble on its back. You could see the individual eggs in all the goo that came out. SO DISGUSTING! I was not about to let this thing live, crawling around my house or all those babies that it would have had. YUCK! I get the willies just looking at the pictures. I wonder how many more of these things are out there!

Dishwasher & more counter space!

So we finally got the new cabinet & counter top put in. We still need to hook up the water & electricity to the dishwasher, but it looks great and I have much more needed counter space. Hopefully I'll be able to use the dishwasher soon and not just look at it! Yay! My dishwashing days are almost over!:)

Luke's 2nd Birthday!

Okay, so I'm a little behind on posting Luke's b-day! We celebrated his birthday this year a couple days early with my family up at Tyrel's sister's cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was like a family reunion for my family since we don't see eachother all the time anymore. We had lots of fun with four-wheelers and motorcycles, & lots of yummy food! We made Cafe Rio styled salads and burritos one night for dinner. It tasted exactly like it! SO YUMMY! So here's just a few pics of the weekend!
Tyrel's sister has redecorated the cabin so cool looking. It has a really cool rustic, cowboy feel to it. There is even a lifesized picture of John Wayne in there. This is just one of the rooms!

Tyrel & I at Cave falls. The actual cave part of the falls was caved in (ironic), so we couldn't get over to it.

Easton at the Cave Falls lookout.

Tyrel & Luke

Grandma brought lots of fun crafts and stickers for the kids!

Instead of having cake & icecream, we had brownies, icecream & home made hot fudge sauce! Yummy!

Luke is obsessed with tracors right now!(Probably cuz we see them all over the place up here!)

Opening more presents!

Lagoon!

We went to Lagoon this year with my sister Brianne and her family. Her husband got us discount tickets through his work! It was tons of fun to see my sister and her family, and for the kids to play with their cousins and ride rides all day! Brianne & I snuck away from the kids for just a bit and Kyle & Tyrel were good to watch them while we went and rode the fairly new ride, WICKED! It was so awesome! We were both a little nervous to go after we got on the ride, but it was worth it. It's my new favorite ride there. I only wish it lasted longer! After that we watched the kids and Kyle & Tyrel went on it. They gave it 2 thumbs up when they got off! Thanks again Kyle & Brianne for the tickets!

Burley Fair week!

Easton was really good to help Luke up the ladder and go down the slide with him.

Ridin' the carnival rides!

Can't you tell Luke loved this ride? He really did!

Me & the boys got to ride on this float in the parade, not too much fun! Won't be doin' that again!
This float did win 1st place out of all of the Oakley stake floats!

Annual Heward Reunion!

The last weekend in July was Tyrel's side of the family's reunion. We went to a place called Harris pond. It was so much fun. There is a huge pond that you can paddle canoes on and paddle boats. The had a zip line and a HUGE swing that you could swing on and then jump out of the swing into the water. We camped there for one night. It was a funfilled two days of good food, family and tons of fun. They had all sorts of games for the young and young at heart! One of the cousins brought a home made train of some sort pulled by one of those golf cart lookin' things. I don't know what they're called, but the kids loved it. The people that own Harris Pond did a candy cannon for the kids. It was fun watching the kids all scramble to pick up the candy. I loved it, I hope we go there again next year! Here's just a few pictures of the fun weekend!
Tyrel & Luke getting ready to go down the zip line

Kade in the marshmallow eating contest. He won with a total of I think 13 or 14 marshmallows. Too bad Tyrel wasn't around for it. He's got a BIG mouth! They had to say " I am a chubby bunny" each time they put a marshmallow in their mouth. They were out once they couldn't say it anymore.
